claudette evans stories, illustrations, poetry and songs home about studio 95 stories songwriting freedom fighter contact home songwriter & lyricist, photographer, artist and writer claudette evans here with busby, her parson russell terrier whom she trained, performed with, writing both songs and stories about the many adventures they shared or might have! in 2015 i decided to retire to wales and selfishly enjoy my passions for songwriting, story writing, drawing, painting and photography each and everyday, sharing my new lifestyle with two wonderful cairn terriers, mollie and maggie. the ‘girls’ enjoy the delightful walks this and the surrounding countryside has to offer. i soon found my skills being put to good use with a local group in a fight with planners who wish to develop an open green space, designated as a ‘brown-field’ site but now with its own ecology and a corridor to the local wildlife trust parc slip. thankfully i always wanted to do something artistic with my life. from as early as i can remember i loved drawing, painting and making up stories. i wouldn’t say i was academic, my favoured subjects being art, drama, music and strangely enough english literature, geography and history. i was rubbish at maths! my mother knew the names of all the trees and wild flowers, so growing up in the wonderful dorset countryside, it was easy to become absorbed in nature and ecology. my father had naturally ‘green’ fingers, something sadly i did not inherit, but he taught me many skills including hunting, fishing and to care for the countryside! like many teenagers i had a passion for motorbikes and being fortunate enough to own a bantom 125cc, i spent many happy hours exploring the lanes and villages near my home. i had became interested in photograph upon receiving my first camera,a box brownie, a passion i still enjoy today, as it enables me to capture the scenery and diverse wildlife in and around my new adopted homeland, presenting me with ideas for sketches, paintings or as story ideas and illustrations. having chosen music as a career, i enjoyed my years performing, teaching and recording and for leisure time i enjoyed nothing better than spending time with my dogs. in 2004 a very special dog, busby came into my life and i found a new passion – dog training! this highly intelligent parson russell terrier soon mastered ‘tricks’ which i formed into a routine set to music i composed and we successfully auditioned for britain’s got talent. sadly performing became too stressful for him and developed behaviour issues. everything happens for a reason, they say and this introduced me to ttouch and i so impressed with the results, i decided to bit the bullet and successfully trained to become a practitioner. sadly busby crossed the rainbow bridge in 2013, but will live on in the many adventures we shared, which are in the process of being turned into stories and hopefully, one day a film.
